Turns out that Giannis and Rudy Gobert were in that draft, as well as a number of other starting caliber players (like Victor Oladipo and Steven Adams). The Cavs would have been better off had they gotten a much lower pick!
Hi Marc. Two questions, for when (if) you ever have time:
1. Why is no one allowed to use video in the drawing room? Is there any sort of documentary type filming going on? Why is it so secretive? Just to keep the reveal show dramatic?
2. Everyone knows that wemby presents a unique skill set and body. But has anyone written anything on how exactly all that might transfer to the NBA specifically? Like, something with good coaches explaining how they’d utilize him? Or defend against him? Something about how the generational talent may translate into X’s and O’s and specifically how he may change basketball? Does that make sense?
1. Don’t know yet if there is league-owned video going on. Will be easier to answer after presumably.
2. Teams are not really allowed to talk about draft prospects until they’re pros … and then they’re limited in how much they can talk about players on other teams. I suspect stories like this will materialize when NBA coaches are more familiar with the ins and outs of his game. I think current coaches have seen less of him to this point than you think.
