Marc! My Pistons are making moves +3 spots here! Just a thought about the ROY race (though obviously I'm biased) - It seems to me that people are changing the narrative on the ROY award. Because of the way the lottery normally shakes out and the fact that the most impactful rookies usually go to the worst teams, ROY hasn't historically been about rookie performance translating to wins. I hear this complaint about MVP where it's largely become the "best player on the best team award". And it feels like that's what's happening here. Mobley has good counting stats as well, but Cade's averages line up pretty favorably with what LaMelo did last year, and with much less talent around him. Mobley landed in a great spot, where there's limited pressure on him to do anything that's outside his comfort zone. Not to say Cade should be the favorite right now, but just that I wonder why it seems like most people have already called the race.

I don't think people have called the race. But we're not used to rookies emerging as difference makers on teams that land way higher in the standings than expected. So that's why Mobley gets so much support and why Cade has his work cut out to top him. That's just the reality.

I get it. But would I really be "Detroit Josh" if I didn't shamelessly lobby for my guy? That being said, I see Jerami getting traded is an important step to give Cade the runway to really make a case.

Great stuff as always Mr. Stein!

Growing suspicions Danny Ainge wants a big shakeup? Can we hear more about these rumblings? I appreciate you, Marc!

Suspicions that Ainge wants to make moves? I've written that multiple times. Specifics plays for Gordon Hayward and whoever else you suggested before ... I haven't heard anything about such rumblings. They want a defensive-minded wing. Open secret. Boston's Josh Richardson is the latest name in circulation. Best I can offer.

Hi Marc. Thanks for the rankings. Wondering about Maxey. Any idea what the Sixers see as his ceiling? He had a great game last night and has had a good season, with some tough stretches though. Is he viewed as a potential #2 guy next to Embiid, with some development, or is his ceiling lower than that? Or, is it too early to tell still?

Don't think they regard him as the No. 2 Sixer -- they wouldn't be chasing big-name sidekicks for Embiid if they did -- but Maxey's stock was already high with Philly's decision-makers last year.
