The latest from NBA Trade Season
Yet again we've got updates on more than half of the league's 30 teams as we move into the final few days before the league's annual trade buzzer sounds
On the Sunday before the NBA trade deadline last year, Dallas and Brooklyn hooked up for an absolute thunderbolt of a swap: Kyrie Irving and Markieff Morris to the Mavericks for Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, two future second-round picks and an unprotected 2029 first-round selection.
No such fireworks appeared to be percolating on this Sunday before the NBA’s 2024 trade deadline chimes at 3 PM ET Thursday, but it would be wise to take note of the word appeared.
Surprises do tend to materialize when least expected in #thisleague; who would have predicted both Irving and Kevin Durant getting traded within a four-day span at the 2023 trade buzzer just a week before both deals materialized?
