As bad as 27 losses in a row sounds, Detroit has been reeling for more than six months. For years, actually

Tuesday amazingly was not the worst day of 2023 for the Detroit Pistons.

It was Superbad … but definitely not the lowest.

Nothing hit them harder than what happened in Chicago on May 16, when the NBA draft lottery dropped the Pistons — who had the league's worst record last season at 17-65 — as far as they could mathematically plummet in the Victor Wembanyama Sweepstakes.

Detroit fell from a potential No. 1 in the draft to No. 5 that day. It doesn't get much more painful than that when a shot at a Wemby was at stake.

Tuesday night, though, was plenty devastating in its own right.
