Pretty much the worst-case scenario has befallen the Denver Nuggets when it comes to Michael Porter Jr.

In late September, Denver committed a five-year maximum rookie contract extension to Porter that will kick in next season. By the end of November, Porter was headed for his third back surgery and might not play again until next season.
