I do not agree IST needs earlier single elimination. I would conjecture that at the initial round if it followed a straight elimination approach the goal is far enough removed that it would be just another game. The current games have juice because they can see how close they now are to achieving a lucrative goal being only 2 games removed from a potential big payday for many of the players involved.
