Hawks talk and more NBA intel
Enclosed is a show summary and links from my latest podcast visit alongside Turner Sports' Chris Haynes
The Atlanta Hawks just made this season’s second coaching change in the NBA.
Hawks guard Trae Young, as a result, will soon be playing for his third coach in five seasons … not counting Young’s current stint under interim coach Joe Prunty in the wake of Nate McMillan’s dismissal.
In the latest edition of our #thisleague UNCUT podcast produced by iHeartMedia, Turner Sports’ Chris Haynes and I discuss the Hawks’ coaching situation — as well as Young’s trajectory after his chilly reception from fellow players in All-Star voting — with Atlanta widely expected to hire former Jazz coach Quin Snyder as McMillan’s replacement.
Chris and I also discuss the All-Star Weekend scene he experienced in Salt Lake City, share some Charles Barkley stories and dig into the buyout market — with a focus on Russell Westbrook (Clippers), Kevin Love (Heat) and their new teams.
We’ll be back with a new episode Monday, too.
Please listen, enjoy, rate, review and, most of all, subscribe!
Unless Snyder really wants to coach the Hawks, it makes sense for him to wait or Atlanta will have to "overpay" to get him before he talks to other teams.
Can Utah get compensation for letting him go to Atlanta or is that off the table post trade deadline?
