The NBA never rests, as my son and I were reminded on our quickie soccer-watching jaunt to England, but no amount of Brooklyn Nets chaos (in London or back home) was going to derail this trip
There really is something magical about going to non Premier league grounds throughout England. I did one trip in 2017 where I saw matches at Craven Cottage (2x), the Madjewski in Reading, Milton Keynes and Hull while also fitting in a reserve match at Motspur Park (a young Emerson Hyndman played 45 min). All within a week. It was so much fun.
Fantastic stuff Marc. My dad started bringing me over to Manchester from Dublin to watch City from a young age. I've now been going and had a season ticket as long as I can remember. He's 60 now, so I get the pleasure of bringing him over a couple of times a year. He will get the chance to see Haaland's first home game this weekend against Bournemouth which is fitting in a sense considering one of my first away games was the Derby in which his dad and Roy Keane had that moment. How roles have reversed. Keep up the good work.
Unfortunately I’ve never attended a soccer match of any kind, but your article inspires me to attend more sporting events with my son who is special needs. We’ve been to Lakers, Dodgers, and Kings games in Los Angeles and I’m taking him to his first Rams game in Inglewood. We also continued our MLB stadium tour with stops in San Diego and Anaheim. Nothing beats father and son time at a ball game. It’s obvious you’re cherishing the time with your youngest. That, again, is inspiring. Our kids grow up fast. Spend time with them. Another excellent piece, Marc.
Really enjoy the insight into your trip. Your reporting and writing brings tons of excitement to your readers and following, so I hope I can speak for everyone in saying we enjoy seeing you get the closest thing to a break in #thisleague you can get and enjoy some football across the pond.
Thanks not only for the kind words but the fact that you already read it. I don't normally post at almost midnight on the East Coast but the mission today was just to make sure that we published after a long travel day ... but while it was still Tuesday.
Haha the picture you posted was of the iconic Tower Bridge, not London Bridge - but that hardly detracts from your delightful post.
Only just saw your note. Thanks for the correction. This is what happens when I try to write about the real world.

Are we related?
Hehe, we just might be.

Great article as usual, and I particularly enjoyed the photos/photo layouts in this one!
Love it Marc. This is an excellent article.
