NBA reporter has proven to be the job of my dreams ... but I also had an amazing gig for the past 10-plus years that is really, really hard to let go of: Goalkeeper Parent
I feel your pain, and it's been a year. Still missing the basketball gyms, AAU travels and SPC playoffs...even the loss when guarding a McDonald's All-American daughter of a former NBA legend. There will be new "highlights" to cheer, even if they may not occur on the pitch. You've got this!
Great stuff, Marc -- thanks for sharing. While we don't have kids, I always enjoy hearing about these moments. Best wishes to Aaron in whatever is next!
Hey Marc - big fan of your newsletter. I’ve been reading you for a long time, but this might have been your best story of all. Reason being, it hit so close to home for me. I was also a goalkeeper at Greenhill back in the day (I was there for Coach Krauss’ first season/Coach Hall’s last and funny enough Paul Pritchett was also a coach of mine back when we were Dallas Inter).
Keep up the great work. Wishing Aaron the best of luck. There’s nothing like high school sports, especially playing on that luscious Brinkmann grass. And of course sad to hear the Hornets lost to Episcopal…just as we’re all sad Luka is lost to LA
Thanks for sharing your family's story, that's what makes independent journalism so much better than the msm. Please don't write about the Cavs great season, you will just jinx Cleveland. Or as my great grandmother would have said--"poo poo poo!" (IFYKYK).
Steiny Mo, as a father myself, I will always appreciate any foray into parenthood topics, thank you for sharing some great pics and memories of you and your son.

You should have asked Luka to delay Lakers debut. Everyone would have understood!!!
Why didn’t I think of that before???
Thanks for this, Marc. As a father of three young boys, I hope I'm sharing similar thoughts in 15 years.

Coach Hall! What a small world.
Mind is blown that a former Greenhill GK is a subscriber. Thank you!
No thank you. I read every single one of your newsletters. Hornets stick together!
Thanks Marc - as a football fan across the pond in London this was a joyous read. Thanks for the continued good work!
