The defending champs learned L-A-T-E Tuesday that Draymond Green will be suspended for Game 3 against Sacramento ... while history says erasing a 2-0 series deficit is unlikely with or without him
Can you remember a time the league provided additional context (i.e. had Woj run a story with Dumars) less than 12 hours after communicating the suspension? Usually they just let the press statement stand on its own. It's bizarre.
I'm a neutral who started to appreciate GS on late-night TV in the Midwest before they really blew up. And while I appreciate the intelligence and energy Green brings to the court, his act has gotten old. Began the season decking a teammate and he's ending it by stomping on an opponent and riling up the crowd like a wrestling heel.
Love Steph and Kerr, but I hope this costs them the series. Mike Brown is a good dude -- I lived near Cleveland in his first stint there -- and the Kings are a blast to watch. Light The Beam!
The Kings' lead feels like more than 2-zip now. They've been fantastic. Really, really interested to see what sort of reactions we get from the Warriors today. They're usually the most candid team going. But this is obviously a huge setback and terribly timed.
How about a comment from Stein about what Green did? It’s one thing to have mutual admiration society podcast before this ugly incident, but now let’s hear from Stein the journalist about this ugly incident.
Think you mean Stein The Columnist but here goes: HAD to be suspended for way-over-the-line actions. As I wrote in the piece, I didn't expect the NBA to suspend him, but they surprised me and took the proper step. The league office typically doesn't like to follow up an ejection with a suspension to take a player out of two successive games, but the crowd-taunting took it farther over the line.
It would be a shame if a suspension would cost GS a shot at winning the series, but Green does appear to have brought this upon himself. I’m not close to being a competitive athlete, so I can’t relate, but I just don’t understand how someone as clearly intelligent and apparently committed to winning as Green could put himself and his team in this position - and not for the first time.
Probably should have been suspended two games given his history.
All in for Portland winning the lottery so philly can finally land Dame

Multiple reporters requested it and this time they provided it. They do this on occasion. Sometimes yes and sometimes no.

Dray absolutely had to be suspended. He intentionally tried to injure another player, and then gloated about it to the fans.

How Draymond addresses all of this on his next pod is another burning question. How much remorse will he voice?
