The increased call ups to the NBA has, in turn, opened up roster spots on G League teams, including the Nets affiliate based in Long Island. So, the Nets minor league team held open tryouts in Brooklyn and Long Island. Players were required to pluck down $200 for the opportunity to be viewed by the L.I. Nets coaches and management. One player was selected from the tryouts, Craig Randall, a 25 year old 6'5" swingman who was undrafted out of the University of Tennessee at Martin and who had not played much basketball for the last few years. And he has made the most of his opportunity so far. After moving into the L.I.Nets starting lineup, Randall has scored 40 and 44 points in his last two games, shooting 32-54, including 14-34 from 3.
