Does the HOF has a cap on how many members can be accepted each year? Pop, Dirk, and Wade are locks... can either Tony or Paul get pushed to next year because a cap amount?
No cap as far as I know. If they get enough votes from the respective committees, they will all be enshrined. Some years are like this one when there is an overload of qualified candidates.
Speaking only for myself: I have no issue highlighting some of It's wonderfully hard-to-believe numbers. Wilt routinely posted. Just didn't in this case because the gap back to Kareem was so substantial in itself.
More than expansion, I wonder how many teams will be soon on the market. With these selling prices., is got to be hard for some of the lower tear millionaire owners not to be tempted to cash in. Jordan, Buss, heck, even Cuban would be in line for a huge profit. My guess is they will all wait until a new TV deal and collective agreement are set because that will raise prices even further
Although I have to admit that I caught most of them recorded, as I missed the live version., I had hoped your Spotify chats were to become a more standard occurrence 😔
I know your old pal William Simmons has expressed recently of his displeasure for the awards being named after players now. I agree and dislike it as well, but I see and understand what the league is doing. What do you think?
Need to learn more about the new Phoenix owner but I haven’t done an expanded look at expansion candidates because I still think it’s Vegas and Seattle well ahead of the field … with Mexico City also a threat. Beyond those three … don’t see it. But your point is well-taken. It merits some exploration just to be sure.
Here's another vote for a look at expansion. If/when you do, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the overall quality of talent in the league. I remember a well-reasoned column years ago that argued against expansion by looking at the end of the bench for each team -- and I seem to remember that it wasn't pretty. But now, the overall level of talent seems higher than ever with undrafted guys, second-round picks, and other lesser lights going off for strong games seemingly every week.

Wilt had four 40, 25, 10 games, yet it seems today’s basketball media likes to blow him off. I am tired of hearing about LeBron as well.

I miss em too!

I will be doing something on it ASAP. Things are a bit frantic at the moment but we will get into it for sure!
Not sure if you have done this lately. How about a short analysis of expansion candidates. Will new owner in Phoenix do something Balmeresque?
