Marc .... When we did David's final sitdown interview for the Mike Wise podcast in November of 2019, Mike asked him who was the most influential person in his life. He named three people. His father, whom he could never please. George Gallantz from the Proskauer Law Firm. And Larry O'Brien, whom David credited with knowing "how to get things done" and for his diplomatic and political skills. Given Stern's reverence for O'Brien, it's probably OK to leave the trophy as it is. What should be done is to have David's signature on every NBA court. Maybe not in the 94 by 50 area, but perhaps on one of the baselines or at halfcourt in front of the scorer's table as was the case with Bill Russell's #6 last season.
I had to admit, I found myself needing to do a side-by-side comparison of Kobe's statue with the photo just to figure out what exactly was on his finger. :-)
Appreciate the acknowledgement of the brutal refereeing in the sixers-knicks game. Can add that there is no reason refs should be awarding technical fouls for complaining about their terrible calls especially in the playoffs?
I’m sure this is a minority opinion, but they should stop naming trophies after people. The name of a person subtracts from what the trophy is actually for, in this case winning the championship. Second, there will always be a new deserving person, such as Stern. And the name worthy person will always suffer from recency bias.
There are many different ways to honor a deserving person, such as Stern, but focus on what’s important; the championship.
Disagree… keep it the Larry O’Brien, and craft a more permanent recognition for Stern. The Sears Tower will always be the Sears Tower to me, no matter what they name it.

What about changing name of technical foul to Stern foul? Stern did so much for the league and was known as a strict enforcer
“Draymond Green has now been thrown out of the game after reviewing Double Sterns.”

Only six double bangs for Mike Breen - great stat!
