Not sure what that (ex) subscriber’s problem was - you can always skip stuff that doesn’t interest you. But more to the point, this Substack is a community, and it’s almost as if you are inviting us into your home, so of course you’ll share some personal stories, and we sometimes do as well.
Well I mostly enjoy the personal stories…except the Man City stuff since my beloved Arsenal can’t quite get past them 😜 But even then it’s fun to hear about your soccer fandom and trips to see your favorite club. Like many here I enjoy getting to know the person behind the writing and reporting
And of course keep the personal stuff coming. It’s not like you are on the psychiatric couch, you are sharing behind-the-scenes sports goodness, which I know I enjoy!
I really ENJOY the personal stuff. That's a big part of why this works for me. You've been around for a while and you've collected all this information, why not share it? I absolutely share the story of Carlisle yelling at me the one and only time I had a credential and went to pregame practice haha!

Congratulations Marc! Great story and I appreciated the Inside Baseball vibes. I appreciate your work
I am left-handed. Huzzah! The grade school me was not as happy as I adjusted to righty desks and notebooks with the coil binder down the middle. 😂
Scissors with the green handle? Loved those!
Yes! And they said "left-handed", too, a further scarlet letter for those of us who were assigned a pair.
And of course keep the personal stuff coming. It’s not like you are on the psychiatric couch, you are sharing behind-the-scenes sports goodness, which I know I enjoy!
New subscriber, proud Cal State Fullerton alum and former OC Register subscriber here. Loved reading that old article. Those were good days!
As an up-and-coming sports writer at the ripe age of 28, I only hope to have such personal 30-year-old stories in the future.
I enjoy the personal side as well. Keep it coming!

I do NOT know that story and look forward to hearing it!
