Marc, you are wrong about the Warriors being the first defending champions to win a playoff series after losing the first 2 games. The 1993 Bulls, who were defending champions, lost the first two games to the Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals and won the series by winning the next four games.

Just saw this, Jon. Warriors in 6 was my thought going in.

I had Lakers in 6. Same as Mr. Boyd.

It makes sense that a team going up 2-0 has won the series 92% of the time not only because, obviously, it’s easier to have to win only two out of the next five vs. having to win four of five, but also because the first two games are home games for the higher seeded team, which historically (unlike, at times, this season) has been significantly better than their opponent.

I wanna feel like this is a duel between knights but one knight is still primetime Curry and one knight needs help to lift his sword. I'm a huge LeBron fan so I'm replaying all the underdogs sport movies in my head. Be Jimmy Chitwood, be Dave the Cutter, be Kelly Leek, be Rocky 2, be Texas Western, be LeBron 2016.

The 2003 defending champion Lakers also lost the first two games of their WCSF series to the spurs. They went on to lose in 6.

I think they must mean a first round playoff series. 2011 Lakers and 1997 Rockets also got swept out in round 2. 2017 Cavs went down 3-0 in the finals. I’m sure there are others.
